A brand new Performing Arts School in Luton, Bedfordshire, Actaround Performing Arts School is a community based service for children and young adults between the ages of 10-18 years. It offers support classes in music, dance and drama. Le Mark was asked to specify a professional sprung dance floor that could also be moved if required. Le Marks Meadow™ Sprung semi-permanent flooring was chosen not only for its versatility but also its incredible durability.
A modern concern with many new dance schools and performing arts venues is the costs incurred with providing a professional floor into a venue that is not owned by them. Banks and financial institutions are often very wary of lending money for a dance floor that will permanently be part of the fabric of the leased building; it is a great bonus to the landlord but does not always make good financial sense to the fledgling start-up company. As a semipermanent floor Le Mark’s Meadow™ Sprung is owned by the dance company and becomes an asset of the company so, therefore, it can be moved to a new venue and even expanded on if required.
Meadow™ Sprung is also quite simple to install and the final flooring was installed by local community volunteers. Natasha Angol from Actaround said “The whole process was exceptionally well presented. From start to finish we had the confidence in Le Mark to deliver exactly the flooring system we required. It looks beautiful and feels wonderful to dance on. Actaround and the local community will benefit enormously from being able to work with such great facilities.”
