Meadow™ Sprung Floor, 2 Years on at Barbara Mann

Client: Barbara Mann Dance Academy

Original Objective: Provide a wooden sprung floor which would cater for a wide range of dance styles for students of all abilities. The main sprung floor would also be fitted with a removable vinyl dance floor top surface for ultimate performance and longevity.

Specific Requirements: In case of future expansion or re-location, our semi-permanent floor range was installed which would allow both the main wood sprung floor and the vinyl top coat to be moved to a new venue if required.

Installed Product: Meadow™ Sprung Wooden Dance Floor & Nocture™ Reversible Dance Floor

How do our floors stand the test of time? We revisited an installation at Barbara Mann Dance Academy 2 years on to find out. With a huge variety of dance styles regularly performed by both established dancers and those less experienced, we were happy to hear that even after 2 years and having not used the vinyl top layer, sprung dance floor was still looking good.

“I had the floor fitted about 2 years ago. I also got the vinyl top covering, but I preferred the wooden effect more, so I decided to resist covering the floor with the vinyl top cover until the wooden part looked a bit shabby. I have kept my vinyl covering, but my wooden floor still looks good so I’m not going to cover it yet. I teach ballet, tap, modern, cheer dance, contemporary, acro and performing arts on the floor, but I do not allow outdoor shoes of any kind on the floor and I regularly check the tap shoes to make sure they are in good condition. The floor gets cleaned weekly. I know I will eventually have to put the vinyl top covering down, but not just yet.” commented Barbara Mann.
